Cake Recipe Contest

These cupcakes are for adults but make you feel like a kid at heart. If you are throwing a bachelorette party or bridal shower or just wanna have fun like Cindi lauper sang, these cupcakes are the perfect dessert and centerpiece choice. So break out the party shoes !!!!! Lemon Drops too.

Naples and the Love of Bread

Neapolitan Cuisine is without doubt the most celebrated Italian cooking style with the use of their local fresh produce that isir cultivated in the rich soil. The cooking of the region of Campania seems to symbolize the most stereotypical Italian cooking. Naples is birthplace to pizza and delicious hearthwarming breads, Growing up there was a truly a gastronomical adventure for us foodies. Here is a recipe for a simple Italian Bread. We have added a touch of my hometown with fresh mozzerella and basil and tomatoes. Basic Italian Bread Dough 4 1/2 cups bread flour 1 pk dry yeast dissolved in 2 cups luke warm water 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon sugar 4 tablespoons olive oil . Here are the instructions I hope you enjoy this like I did with my family. Mix until forms a ball, knead until smooth and elastic, add more flour if dough is sticky , this should not be dry but firm until a ball forms. Rise in a bowl covered with a wet towel, until doubled in size in warm spot, away from draft.... On a large cookie sheet that has been coated with oil or sprayed with a lighter coating, round rolls or two small bread loaves, which ever shape you prefer. I also use this recipe for pizza dough. Very versatile dough, just a little different directions Let rise for another 1/2 hour. Bake on 430 degrees until light brown about 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Cool. Mangia and Buona Salute !!!!

Creamy Buttercream with fresh Strawberries

Town Crier Bakery I have really gotten into experimenting with different buttercream flavors (Kerry is going to go crazy) in particular ones with fresh fruit. Shopping at some of our great local farms that we have in our beautiful Bucks County, we landed on strawberries. I must say, this is probably one of my favorite buttercream's I have EVER made. It tasted light and the sweetness came mainly from the strawberries. The flavor profile was perfect according to Krissy with a zest of fresh lemon and Madagascar vanilla brought this creamy fruit swirled buttercream to life. Look for some more fun and exciting summer flavors to come

Bucks County Happening

I’m glad that I posted about exercise earlier this week because you’ll want to go on an extra long run this week so you can enjoy seconds at Town Crier Bakery in Peddler’s Village (I know I did!). With the sweet scents of home-baked goods welcoming us, we arrived at Town Crier last week to learn more about their secrets to baking the perfect sticky buns.

Town Crier Bakery was opened by husband & wife power team Kerry & Roseann. Watching the video below, it’s obvious that they know their way around the kitchen. Kerry began baking at just 13 years old and credits the German bakeries of Philadelphia with teaching him the secrets to amazing baked goods. As you can see from the flattering picture of me stuffing my face below, the sticky buns are irresistible! My boyfriend actually had to pry them away from me.

Town Crier Bakery goes beyond delicious treats, though. Kerry, Roseann, & their entire staff welcomes you into the shop with open arms and engages the community with their blogging & Facebook contests. If you fan them, you’ll get access to secret words & trivia questions for free goods!
