This beautiful two layer cake was designed for a bridal shower to match her wedding colors. The cake was a chocolate layer cake filled with carmel buttercream inside. Just delectable and it was enjoyable to all at the party.

THIS BEAUTIFUL FALL FONDANT LEAF CAKE WAS MADE FOR A BIRTHDAY IT TURNED OUT JUST PERFECT. THE COLORS OF THE LEAVES MADE IT FEEL JUST LIKE A CRISP DAY OF AUTUMN AND THE LEAVES HAD JUST FALLEN OFF OF A TREE. THIS CAKES WAS VANILLA POUND WITH FRENCH BUTTERCREAM. THE BOTTOM LAYER WAS ALMOND POUND.

Peddler's Village Bakery

An old-fashioned “from-scratch” bakery is at Peddler's Village in Lahaska.

Town Crier Bakery aims to capture the essence of country kitsch, with 90 percent of its goods coming from fresh ingredients and homemade on the premises.

With eight years experience as a bakery merchandiser for 37 Genuardi's stores spanning Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, owner Kerry Burns knows his way around a bakery. He and his wife, Roseann, offer doughnuts lightly fried, cakes made from scratch and warm, freshly baked muffins and breads.

“Our mission is to offer fresh baked goods accompanied by high-quality friendly service,” says Burns. “We'll be here baking at 4 a.m. every morning to fulfill our promise.”


He says customer service also is a top priority.

Town Crier Bakery is at 29 Peddler's Lane, just off of Street Road.

Hours: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

GRAND ILLUMINATION AT PEDDLERS VILLAGE-TOWN CRIER BAKERY

Santa switches on the Villages outdoor holiday light display on Friday at 6:15 to kick off the holiday season and his weekend visits with children at Giggleberry Fair thru December. Make sure you stop by the Town Crier bakery, Santa's favorite bakery. Enjoy a gingerbread cookie with a cup of Candy Cane Coffee or Egg nog coffee. We are on Santa's yummy list.

The Apple Dumpling Brigade

Well it is the eve before Apple Festival at Peddlers Village and the apple dumpling elves are hard at work preparing for the festival.

Well a long time coming but it is really here. It is hard to describe the Apple Festival. A mix of fun and delicious foods that all include Apples. At our bakery you can get the Apple Dumplings with our special custard sauce. The customers come back every year for this delicacies. A large and I mean large apple encased in a flaky pie dough and baked to perfection. Finally the custard sauce is poured hot all over the apple dumpling. Just so yummy. The apple is cooked to perfection and it still has just a little crisp to it just perfect. There are many other fun activities like a pie eating contest music and games for all. The village is decorated with the scarecrows and fall is in the air.
