Now Taking Orders!!Immigrants have brought various doughnut varieties to the United States. To celebrate Fat Tuesday in southeastern Pennsylvania, churches sell a potato starch doughnut called a Fastnacht (or Fasnacht). The treats are so popular there that Fat Tuesday is often called Fastnacht Day. The Polish doughnut, the pączki, is popular in U.S. cities with large Polish communities such as Chicago, Milwaukee, and Detroit.
In regions of the country where apples are widely grown, especially the Northeast and Midwest states, cider doughnuts are a harvest season specialty, especially at orchards open to tourists, where they can be served fresh. Cider donuts are a cake donut with apple cider in the batter. The use of cider affects both the texture and flavor, resulting in a denser, moister product. They are often coated with either granulated or powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar.

Sweet Sixteen with Tiffany
What a special birthday party when you turn sixteen and you want to design your own cake. Well that is the trend now. Young girls love to have a creative touch and say in there own design and flavors for the great milestone in their life. They will come with pictures or sometimes there own design that they have drawn themselves. Future budding artist. I really enjoy to see the creativity that some of these young adults have. It really brings a special touch to the cake. In this case the girl loved Tiffany Jewelry well who doesn't and this is what she designed. Have fun and create your design for any special event that is an important part of your lives. They will be many pictures to show years from now.

Italian heritage and breads
Yesterday I decided to invade my husbands territory in the back of the bakery which means I entered the "no Roseann allowed bake zone". The back of the bakery where Kerry bakes is usually left up to the real bakers. Well I decided to let my self wander to the back and bring back some of the great memories of living in Naples, Italy flow into the breads Kerry was making today. When I lived in Naples, we would buy our breads at the local bread store just around the corner were every morning they would come out fresh from the brick ovens. The smells were savory and sweet. The fun part of it as a child was when my dad would bring the fresh bread home and we would lower the basket down from the apartment and pull it back up quickly ( few times I would get tempted to be naughty and swing it around)so we could pull apart the bread and slab butter on it yes butter. One of my favorite breads was a crusty bread that was filled with fresh tomatoes basil and roasted peppers with garlic and olive oil baked inside of the bread. Well let me tell you one way trip to a foodies divine adventure that makes you want to keep going back. I made the bread today and just added my spin on to it and added fresh mozzarella and enclosed. I truly was proud of myself and felt like I was back in Naples for even just a few minutes.
